Each Christmas, NVS Group’s Festive Fundraising Campaign allows us to support a charity close to our hearts. For 2025, we are proud to announce that our chosen charity is the Aspergillosis Trust, nominated by colleagues Katie Martin and Hayley Mullaney from our Poulton Laboratory.
A personal connection
Katie shared how the charity has a deeply personal significance:
“My late father lived with Aspergillosis for many years, and his experience inspired me to volunteer as a Trustee. The charity provides vital support to patients and families while raising awareness of this often-overlooked condition. I’m extremely passionate about the work they do and the difference it makes.”
Hayley added her support:
“Katie has been working tirelessly in her spare time to promote the Aspergillosis Trust charity to the public, hospitals, GPs and other healthcare businesses. I find her very inspirational, and think this charity needs the extra support.”
About the Aspergillosis Trust
The Aspergillosis Trust is a UK patient-led charity supporting people affected by aspergillosis, a rare lung condition that is often misdiagnosed or recognised late. It primarily affects those with asthma, COPD, cystic fibrosis, or weakened immune systems.
Run entirely by patients and carers, the Trust provides peer support, raises awareness, and advocates for faster diagnosis and improved treatment. They also fund research into antifungal medications, addressing the growing challenge of antimicrobial resistance.
Making an impact
Although it is a small charity, the Aspergillosis Trust’s impact is significant. Its work helps improve understanding, care, and quality of life for people living with this challenging condition.
