Disruption to product supply
I am writing to inform you that over the next few months we are anticipating temporary interruptions in supply of certain Metacam® oral presentations, along with Pexion® and Semintra®. The disruption in supply for these products is likely to be significant for veterinary practices in the UK.
This situation is unfortunately due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic at one of our manufacturing sites, which is located in a region of the world badly impacted by Covid-19. Due to the local Covid-19 situation, the implementation of additional safety measures at the manufacturing site has become critical. These measures have resulted in a considerable reduction of workforce and consequently, the output at our plant has been temporarily reduced, along with delays to the release of some products manufactured there. As a result, we anticipate that it will take a few months before we resume with normal supply levels.
We are working hard to restore supply
We sincerely apologise for this disruption but we hope you understand that this situation is beyond anyone’s control. Please know that we are actively and urgently pursuing all options available to achieve normalised supply, and Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health in the UK is working closely with our colleagues at the manufacturing site to understand the impact of these delays so we can continue to proactively communicate with our customers to give as clear a picture as possible.
